A National Leader in Patient Safety
The goal of the Maryland Patient Safety Center, a not-for-profit organization, is to make Maryland's health care the safest in the nation by focusing on the systems of care, reducing the occurrence of adverse events, and improving the culture of patient safety in Maryland's hospitals.
The Maryland Patient Safety Center engages both providers and patients in care improvement and communication. The Center operates a voluntary reporting system of patient safety events and "near misses" that do not result in harm. The Maryland Patient Safety Center also offers education and training surrounding quality and patient safety collaboratives.
