MHA Board Elects New Officers, Executive Committee Members

 

The Board of Trustees of the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) elected its officers and Executive Committee members for the 2008-2009 term of office at the MHA Annual Meeting on June 11.

 

The MHA officers include:

 

  • Board Chair-  Albert “Skip” Counselman, board chair, St. Agnes Hospital, and Chairman and CEO, Riggs, Counselman, Michaels & Downes (RCM&D) in Baltimore;
  • First Vice Chair-  Wayne R. Johnson, chair, Board of Governors, Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland;
  • Board Vice Chair-  Laurence M. Merlis, president and CEO, Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore;
  • Treasurer-  Thomas R. Mullen, president and CEO, Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore; and,
  • Secretary-  Jeffrey A. Pargament, board member, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville.

Newly-elected members of the Executive Committee are:

 

  • Carol W. Eaton, Ph.D., president, Frederick Community College and board member, Frederick Memorial Healthcare System Board
  • Judith A. Feustle, director, Nursing Division of Stevenson University (formerly Villa Julie College) in Stevenson and board member, Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.
  • William G. Robertson, president and CEO, Adventist HealthCare, in Rockville; and,
  • Dean Schleicher, board chair, Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick.

Members re-elected to the MHA Executive Committee include:

  • Martin (Chip) L. Doordan, president and CEO, Anne Arundel Health System in Annapolis;
