HealthLink

T hrough donations received from the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, HealthLink, a branch of Upper Chesapeake Health's Community Outreach, provides the community of Harford County with a variety of low cost and free services. Every month, HealthLink provides health screenings and educational programs throughout the area. These programs include a variety of health topics, such as anti-smoking campaigns, children's programs, nutrition, breast education, and proper hand washing to prevent the spread of germs. With the help of the HealthLink Medical Mobile Van and HealthLink van, both generously donated by the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Volunteer Association, nurses are on hand at senior centers, the Harford Mall, local grocery stores, schools, assisted living communities, soup kitchens, shelters, childcare centers, and community events to educate and screen the community for health conditions such as high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and elevated cholesterol levels. HealthLink also provides flu vaccines each fall to the community at clinics held throughout the county and at the HealthLink Wellness Center in Havre de Grace, where residents can walk in to have cholesterol, osteoporosis, blood pressure, and other screenings performed for free or at a minimal fee.
